You can't lose weight if you are over eating, but calorie restriction is not a guarantee of weight loss. It's more complicated than simply calories in and calories out. In fact, I see more issues clinically in clients eating too little food, which has the potential to increase inflammation and stress chemistry to the point of being conter productive to your weight loss efforts.
